Setting up Fraud Prevention & Secure Attendance in SalaryBox helps you stop proxy punching, and keep your attendance records 100% genuine.
Note: This feature is available only on the Business plan. If you are on the Starter plan, upgrade to Business to access these settings.
How to Set Up from the Web #
- Log in to the SalaryBox web portal.
- Go to Settings from the top right menu.
- The Fraud Prevention & Secure Attendance section is located under Attendance Settings.
Here you will find the following options :
- GPS Based Geofence – Allows staff to mark attendance only from your office location. You set a radius around your office, and staff can only punch in or out when they are physically within that area. This is ideal if your team works from a fixed location.
- Device Verification – Staff can only punch in from an approved device. When a staff member tries to mark attendance from a new phone or tablet, the admin must approve that device first. This prevents employees from sharing login credentials and marking attendance on each other’s behalf.
- Liveness Detection – Verifies that a real person is present in front of the camera at the time of punch in or out. It prevents fake attendance using photos, printouts, or pre-recorded videos. Important: Liveness Detection can only be enabled when AI Face Recognition is turned on.
- Block Fake GPS Attendance – Prevents staff from using fake GPS or location spoofing apps to mark attendance from somewhere other than the office. When enabled, SalaryBox detects mock-location apps and blocks the punch.

How to Set Up from Android #
- Open the SalaryBox app on your Android phone.
- Tap on Settings (gear icon) at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap on Attendance Settings.
- Scroll down to the Fraud Prevention & Secure Attendance section.
