User Permission (Custom) is a powerful feature in Salarybox that allows you to set role-based access for your employees. This means you can control exactly what each team member can view or do within the system, based on their job responsibilities.
Available Permission Areas #
With User Permission (Custom), you can configure access for key modules, including:
Attendance Data: View or manage employee attendance records.
Attendance Settings: Adjust rules like shift timings or location policies.
Leave Management: Handle leave requests, balances, and approvals.
For each area, you have three main permission levels: #
View Only: Employees can see information but cannot make changes (e.g., check attendance reports without editing).
Create/Edit: Employees can add new records or update existing ones (e.g., input attendance or modify leave details).
Approve: Employees can review and approve requests (e.g., sign off on leave applications).
Example in Action #
Imagine a mid-level supervisor:
They can view only full staff records to get an overview.
But they have created/edit access to attendance reports for their team.
And approve permissions for leave requests from direct reports.
This setup gives you precise control, ensuring the right people have the right access without overcomplicating things.
How to Set Up Custom Permissions #
Log In: Access the SalaryBox web portal (web.salarybox.in) using your Admin credentials (registered mobile number and PIN/OTP).
Navigate to My Team: On the left-hand sidebar of the dashboard, click on My Team.
Select an Employee: In the My Team section, browse the list of employees and click on the name of the employee you want to customize permissions for.
Access User Permission: On the employee’s profile page, look for User Permission on the left-hand sidebar and click it.
Enable Custom Permissions: Scroll down to the Custom Permissions option at the bottom. Click on it to open the customization panel.
Assign Permissions: For each area (e.g., Attendance Data, Attendance Settings, Leave Management).
